I grew up in Germany and decided to become a vet when I was 4 years old. In 1994 I qualified after 6 years of study in Hannover and a 6 month scholarship in Utrecht. I started work as a vet at the gynaecology department of the University of Berlin, where I also completed my doctorate.
As a child, I spent several family holidays in England and had come to love the country and its people. In 1997 I started working in a mixed practice in Cambridgeshire. A year later I met my now husband on an activity holiday in Wales and subsequently moved to Shropshire, where I worked in the small animal department of a busy mixed veterinary practice.
I joined Gladstone Veterinary Clinic in 2004. My main interests are internal medicine, cardiology and cytology. I have undertaken a 2 year modular course in internal medicine and continue to attend courses in these areas to keep up to date with current advances in veterinary medicine.
I have served as secretary for the Shropshire Veterinary Association, which organises continuous professional development for vets in Shropshire and is a regional division of the British Veterinary Association.
Outside of work I enjoy playing golf since I hung up my football boots a few years ago. Travelling, walking, cycling, reading, good food and red wine are others of my passions. At home our cat "Tommie" rules the house.
